On 29 November 2008, Barrie Goldsmith was a guest speaker at the annual National Ethnic & Multicultural Broadcasters’ Council conference held in Sydney.

Barrie presented a speech on:

• The current legal issues faced by the broadcasting industry;
• The interface between the law and broadcasting; and
• Challenges faced by ethnic and multicultural broadcasting and how the law can assist.

The conference was a great success as it brought together a diverse background of those involved in the industry and tribute was paid to the contributions made by those individuals to the community.
