On 29 November 2008, Barrie Goldsmith was a guest speaker at the annual National Ethnic & Multicultural Broadcasters' Council conference held in Sydney.

Barrie presented a speech on:

• The current legal issues faced by the broadcasting industry;
• The interface between the law and broadcasting; and
• Challenges faced by ethnic and multicultural broadcasting and how the law can assist.

The conference was a great success as it brought together a diverse background of those involved in the industry and tribute was paid to the contributions made by those individuals to the community.

Barrie was honoured to have had the opportunity to attend and speak at its annual conference.
